Cosmolocalism refers to a process of mutalistic knowledge and resource sharing between local and global systems.
Embedded within a former institute in central Amsterdam, the Cosmolocal Playground is a residency designed to foster deep collaboration between local and global innovators. Social innovators, artists, technologists, and researchers gather to co-create market-driven projects that deliver real-world value, both locally and globally.
The Factory is the generator of new things. Structured as a residency, it offers the space and needed support structure to collaborate. Participants are encouraged to push the limits of traditional creative and technological boundaries to explore projects where there may be cultural overlaps of technology, art, and social innovation.
The market is the testing ground where the public interacts with the concepts generated in the factory. The interface to gather feedback and refine our projects for broader impact. Serves as an open platform where local Amsterdam, global innovators, and the public can engage one another.
The current space, known as the NFT Playground, has served the central Amsterdam community as a public good, providing an immersive environment for creators to gather, learn, and build together as community.
Cosmolocalism refers to a process of mutalistic knowledge and resource sharing between local and global systems.
Cosmo-localism is an innovative concept that aims to bridge knowledge, production and consumption of globally distributed communities into local hubs. By exchanging knowledge and resources in a decentralized, cosmo-local fashion, we can empower local communities to self-produce and govern value created. From the on-the-ground work at different localities we can abstract products, protocols and practices that flow into the global knowledge hub.
Web3 provides the technological substrate to experiment with cosmo-local exchanges of value production. Ethereum provides a cultural attitude to honor the sovereignty and autonomy of local communities while reciprocating with the global network. Amsterdam is an innovation hub for commerce and tech, and houses many innovative social institutions.
We believe in transparency, empathy, and open collaboration. Guided by open-source principles, we embrace a culture of co-creation that fosters the generation of novelty. Building meaningful connections toward impact in the current world is paramount, while maintaining openness to the possibilities of new worlds.
